Our Classes

Class Overview

Preschool (Ages 3-4)

Two types of classes are offered for our youngest dancers.
A Tap/Ballet combo class serves as an introduction to the world of dance through a ½ hour of pre-tap and a ½ hour of pre-ballet. This class also includes singing and counting to music.
Our Acrobatic/Dance class is a one-hour class designed for the 3 to 4 year old and is popular with both boys and girls. This class introduces the dancers to basic coordination and locomotive skills mixed with simple dance moves as well as teamwork and beginner tumbling progressions.
Our experienced, professional staff is trained in early childhood to ensure that your little one has a positive experience.
Preschool dancers perform on stage with the aid of an assistant. One hour of class per week equals one routine in the show. Preschool Dancers perform in Our Shamrock Showcase. All dancers are included in our signature Finale!
Preschool classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and Saturday mornings.

Company Dancer Program

Dancers are invited to join the SOSD Dance Company based on potential, progress, work ethic, attendance, and other qualities. Company Dancers are required to study a minimum amount of hours per week, which increases as the dancers mature. Company Dancers must attend 90% of their Company classes and 100% of their Ballet classes. Workshops, conventions, competitions, master classes and performance opportunities throughout the year broaden a SOSD Company Dancer's education. The commitment is much larger than that of a recreational student.
